From my Instagram @ohmy_m
In my makeup collection, MAC products are very few. There's a couple of reasons for that. I started my collection when I was fourteen and never really began to develop it past drug store brands until I was seventeen. Even then, I wasn't willing to shell out fifteen dollars or more on an eye shadow. There have been exceptions. I have three MAC eye shadows that I've had for a couple years, all lightly used as I've been savoring them. When they're up in price, you want to make sure you get the best uses out of them, right? These were only purchased after long deliberation when I finally got paid and they were spread out. I was never one to drop a ridiculous amount of money on makeup in my teens. I'm still the same way. If there's something I'm interested in, but it's out of my price range, I usually save up or go without. You can read an article I wrote for Glossyfinds on how to buy makeup on a budget here! These are methods I've used myself, so I know they work.

In my perusing to find an affordable option to getting high brands, I found a particularly wonderful website that I think everyone should be taking advantage of. Glambot.com is where I was able to get this lovely palette of colors for more than half the price. I got the case for around six dollars and each refill was around five. That's such a bargain! On MAC's website, they cost about ten for the refills. Now, these were bought pre-owned, but they were in incredible condition, as you can see, and were hardly used at all. I was finally able to get the beautiful pink shade of Cranberry that I've been lusting after for months.

Left to right: Cranberry, Knight Devine, Trax, Twinks.
All the colors have so much pigment and go on smooth and even. I've been having a great time experimenting with the colors, though I will admit I've been most partial to Cranberry (obviously) and Twinks. The latter is such a good choice for everyday wear, as I've found that it goes with just about every kind of outfit that you can imagine. It has a shimmer to it, but I'm afraid the picture doesn't do it much justice. It's a multitude of colors, not just simply silver. It's basically just... beautiful. *squee*

MAC Vanilla pigment
From Glambot, I also picked up this little bottle of awesome. It's a highlighter in a beautiful powdered form and I couldn't be more in love with it! The color is simply called Vanilla and it had a purple/pink shimmer when applied to the skin. It's easy to blend and honestly, if you have never used a highlighter before, I would suggest using one and making it this one. I purchased it for ten dollars on the site, compared to the twenty-one dollars it is on the MAC website. Obviously, you can use this as more than just a highlighter. I would go so far as to say you could use it as a shadow! I've only been using it as the highlighter and have also used it in the corner and underneath my eyes, but who knows how many other uses there are for this?!

What products do you like the most from MAC?
