Cleaning My Makeup Brushes | ❄Blogmas❄

Hello Lovelies!
So today is the day. The day I set aside every two weeks to clean my makeup brushes. I'm going to be perfectly honest with you, when I first started really getting into makeup, I didn't do this. I didn't clean them properly, nor did I dedicate a day every two weeks just for them to have a bath. Which is probably why my skin broke out sometimes.

So here they are, all dirty and waiting for their deep cleaning. I've branched out from using shampoo. I was previously using a makeup brush cleaner from e.l.f. but then I found THIS.

Peppermint Pure Castile Soap from Ology. This stuff is pretty much good for everything. Body wash, shampoo, face wash. Everything. I can't remember whose blog I found this on, but they had completely transformed their brushes with this. Old looked new and I can honestly say that I've seen the same results. You have to be patient though, which I am not. Some of my foundation brushes take an extra amount of cleaning because the foundation can really get in there (ew) but with the little extra elbow grease, everything comes right out. I swear, my brushes look brand new!

You can even tell the difference once they are freshly washed and beginning to dry. And don't worry, they come out fluffy and smelling like peppermint! I do believe this brand has a lavender scent as well, but peppermint was just the better option for me, as I much prefer fresh scents.

And that's really all I use! I tend to let them soak in a small bowl with water and this soap mixed in for a couple of hours, then rinse and put a drop of the soap in-between the bristles. Rub your fingers in and on your palm and rinse again! This is usually it for most of the powder brushes, but repeat as needed!

Also, I WILL be attempting blogmas again this year! I kind of failed last year and fell a few days behind. But I have a lot going on this month so I should have plenty of stuff to post for you!
