I do not buy high end anything if I can help it. Honestly, I don't have the money to throw down on the good stuff when drugstore works just as well, and sometimes, even better!

But I have to admit that I've developed a love for Tarte's newest collection. I blame it on the foundation. I received it as a gift for my birthday this past year and I haven't looked back. Of course, that also started the issue of loving it so much that I needed to try everything that came out with the name. Big problem.

I don't have everything, but I feel like I got a good range of the products to be able to give you some suggestions in case you were looking for something new.

What the heck is a boosting mist? I've never used such a thing in my skincare routine, so this one has taken some getting used too. I like to use it after I have wiped my makeup off and washed my face with the gel cleanser, which is like heaven to use, by the way! I'm still not sure what it does, but it feels nice. So there's that.

Also, I feel like I should mention that everything in this range smells like fruity pebbles. Not sure why, but it's nostalgic, since I don't eat them anymore.

The lip facial was something that I had been looking forward too. I have such issues with my lips being dry and having dead skin on them that I tend to avoid wearing lipsticks/glosses. And that's no fun when you're a self proclaimed beauty blogger. That's an entire section of makeup I can't try! So this has been helping a lot! I use it a couple minutes before applying any lip product and now they all glide on like a dream.

Technically, this isn't from the Rainforest collection, but I have been wanting to try this for such a long time. I've mentioned before that my dark circles are another bane of my existence, so anything I can find that might help is something I'm willing to try. If I use this once a night, it helps so so much. But don't even think about skipping a night, because those circles will come back with a vengeance!

The eye masks that are pictured in the first image are not something I would try again. Not to say that they didn't work well, but for some reason, I just didn't like the way they felt. When I took them off my skin felt sticky and I had to give it a little water to make that feeling go away. Which kind of defeats the purpose since that washes all the product off!

Ah, the mositurizer. The best part of any skincare routine, in my opinion. I really love this stuff! I've taken a liking to gel anything for some reason. I think I just love how cool it feels on my skin. And this is a really great moisturizer. It's nothing crazy like Clinque's Moisture Surge, but it does it's job very well and I would suggest it if you're looking for something similar.

I'm always changing up my skincare routine. I need to give it some kind of variety because if I don't, my skin becomes used to it and it adapts. Tricky little thing. So you can be sure I'll have another skincare post up in the next few months! LOL.

"I live in two worlds. One is a world of books." - Rory Gilmore

If you've been here for a while, you know I'm all about books. I live and breathe books.

Books, books, books, boooooooooks.

I usually post what I'm currently reading, book hauls, and other fan girly things. I'm currently trying to tackle the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge. But there are also a lot of books that I want to try and reread. Because there is nothing better then going back into a world that is different but yet so, so familiar.

001 Harry Potter | Do I dare tackle all seven books again? I've reread the first three or so, but then I'd always find a different book to get into, a new series that would suck me in. This time around, I think I'll go for the whole enchilada. And yes, I know this is a series, as opposed to the 'five' I mentioned in the title.

002 Looking For Alaska | This is the book that made me fall in love with John Green. Not 'The Fault in Our Stars', though that was a good one, clearly. LFA had some really compelling characters that I fell in love with. And of course, there's the typical heartbreak that Mr. Green likes to dish out.

003 Unreasonable Hope | A book about God. If religion isn't your thing, you might not be interested in this. As a Christian, I found this to be really insightful. If you're not religious, you might find this interesting, though I definitely can't speak for everyone. For me, this was a great book to read, and something to read over and over in times of need.

004 All the Bright Places | Ugh, talk about getting your heart ripped out. I recently purchased this because it was on sale from Amazon for four dollars, so how could I not? It's such an amazing book about things that I've never really read about before. It really digs in and while I know that I'm going to ball my eyes out all over again, it's going to be worth it.

005 Le Temps Viendra | The two part Anne Boleyn novel I read back in 2015. I remember thinking that this was the exact thing I had always wanted to write about myself. About how it would be to suddenly be transported back in time as this woman and live everything I've read about. Someone else had the same idea! So I need to go back.

I will be the first to admit that I DON'T. DO. THE COOKING. THING.

Maybe it's from the lack of ever doing it or my love for pizza and mac and cheese, but I'm not very skilled, when it all comes down to it. Of course, I do try. And I can follow a recipe. So I suppose that should count for something. Still, that one time with the angel food cake...

ANYWAY, I decided to put some old bananas and apples to use the other day before they were completely off and made the only thing you can really do with those things; a bread loaf! And surprisingly, my husband fell in love. And so did his co-workers! (Holy crap, I made something other people love!)

Needless to say, I've gone through three loaves now and they're just gonna keep on coming. Wanna make it too?

Grab this;
3 apples
3 bananas
2 eggs
1 stick of butter
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 shakes cinnamon
brown sugar - to sprinkle
Jalapenos - if desired - see bottom*

Do this;
1. Peel your apples. I've done this with both browning apples and fresh ones, so you can do either. Once they're peeled, chop them up and toss out the cores. (I like to throw them outside for the animals and mother nature). You can slice them however big or small as you'd like. We like slightly large chunks.
2. Get your bananas naked and mash them up!
3. Set these aside and mix together your dry ingredients, leaving out the cinnamon and brown sugar, we'll add those later!
4. Warm up your stick of butter a little and cut it into pieces. This will make mixing easier. Throw those in with the dry stuff!
5. Add your eggs and vanilla.
6. Fold everything in gently, then pull out that electric mixer! Make sure everything is nice and smooth before adding bananas and apples. If you did larger chunks of apples like I do, add a little at a time.
7. Now for cinnamon! I don't measure this, I just add a shake or two.
8. Pour your mix into a loaf dish. This is usually a good amount for two.
9. Brown sugar time! Sprinkle some on top of your loaves!
10. Your oven should be heated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for 50 - 55 minutes.

Ta-da! You should have a clean knife coming out of that bread when it's finished!
*For an extra kick, add some jalapenos! Not a lot, just a handful to put on top. My husband loves a kick and they pair really well with this bread. Who knew?
