Fenty Beauty | Review

Hello Lovelies!

I'm doing something I haven't done in such a long time; a foundation review! I caved in and got some items from Rihanna's Fenty Beauty collection and after wearing it around for a little have decided that I am educated enough to properly write this out. So let's gooo.

I'm still a bit annoyed here. I had ordered the amazing looking gloss that claims looks good with all skin tones, but it was out of stock when they were shipping everything out, so I haven't received it to test out. With my next beauty order though, you can bet I'll be plopping that into my basket.

I did get the following:
Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in shade 190
Full-Bodied Foundation Brush 110
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby

I was most excited to get this highlighter. It's such a pretty shade and I've been using the left side as an eye-shadow. It's a very white, shimmery pigment, but it looks so lovely on the eyes. The right side has more of a gold tint to it and looks amazing on the brow bones.

I'm always nervous when it comes to foundations because I'm never sure if it'll look right with my face, even if I get the right color. Which, if you've read my blog before, is typically an issue I have. I'm definitely not the best at matching my skin tone. I've ordered all this from Sephora though and they have my skin tone matched, so I had a bit of confidence. I also really love matte foundations, as my skin, particularly my T-zone, can get really oily and shiny. The ultimate test to this was if it could battle the oil. It did last most of the day, but by the time I was home, you could see the oil breaking through. Not at all bad, considering it lasted at least seven hours.

And finally, the foundation brush. I don't tend to buy brushes when it comes to a new collection, but I'd heard such good things about this one that I really wanted to give it a try. I usually use a beauty blender to put my foundation on, so it was weird getting used to a brush again. But it really did a lovely job of blending it in without leaving brush stroke streaks.

All in all, this has been a great collection from Rihanna so far. And if you haven't tried it yet, I highly suggest that you do!
