Top Halloween/Autumn Films | BLOGTOBER 🍂☕🎃

Hi, scaredy cats!

I'm so excited for this post because it's all of my favorite Halloween and autumn movies! I watch some of these YEAR round, but this is the time of the year when they really make you feel cozy. And maybe a little spooky. Also, don't expect anything hair raising on this post! I'm a fan of the more traditional Halloween films and not the really scary, make-you-jump-out-of-your-seat films. 😂

HOCUS POCUS
I feel like this should be on everyone's list when Halloween comes around. It's just that classic film that you need to put on because who doesn't love a good old talking cat and some witches? It's just a bunch of hocus pocus!

CORALINE
I will be the first to admit that the book version of Coraline (the original!) is way more creepy than the film. But I watch this pretty much year round and I love it. The animation just fascinates me and again, who doesn't love a talking cat? Also, I know this is a kid's film, but maybe double check their age because this is just really... creepy.

PARANORMAN
Another film with animation that I love. Paranorman came out of nowhere for me one year and I haven't looked back since. It has a witch's curse, a boy who likes zombies and can see ghosts, and John Goodman. Yes, this has everything I love!

DOUBLE DOUBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE
A Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen classic. I lived for their movies when I was younger and to not include this on the list would be a HUMONGOUS mistake. The twins set out to save their parents from their aunt and meet all kinds of crazy magical people along the way. I also think this is where my moonstone obsession came into play.

HALLOWEENTOWN
To be perfectly honest, I haven't watched this in a super long time. But you can bet I'm going to after this post! Just thinking about it brings back all the nostalgia and memories of wanting to be a witch, just like Marnie! The original Marnie, not the one they replaced her with in that really weird college version.

CASPER
I loved Casper growing up and it's definitely in the same league as Hocus Pocus for me. It just has that old school, little baby me vibe to it that I just can't get over. Oh, and speaking of Casper...

CASPER MEETS WENDY
Remember when Hilary Duff met Casper in this totally awesome movie and you had to watch ABC Family every Halloween because it was just so under-rated? No? Well, I do and you need to find a copy of this and put it on your to-watch list. You most definitely won't regret it!

THE ADDAMS FAMILY
How can you forget about the Addams family? This is one of those movies that I can watch all year long, but it's super special when you put it on during Halloween.

IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN
I'm a big fan of the holiday Charlie Brown films. I always put on the corresponding film during whichever holiday and Halloween is definitely not left out. I don't tend to watch these ones year round though. They're special to me and are only watched on the big day.

THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
And last but not least, The Nightmare Before Christmas! This one is so great and nostalgic. You can watch it year round, at Halloween, at Christmas, and still get all those cozy vibes that makes this time of the year so wonderful.

There are so many more that I could list, but I'm going to keep it somewhat short and end here. Have a film to add? Let me know which one is your favorite!
