"Even though February was the shortest month of the year, sometimes it seemed like the longest."

Is it just me, or did February drag on this year? 2019; the year of long months. I think with the mixture of chilly, windy days and the insane personal issues we've had to deal with, time has seemed to crawl by. February included a hip surgery and lots of days around the house. Introverting to the max. So since I haven't had many posts this month, I thought I'd share some of the things I've been loving to help me get through the stress.

  • Re-reading Harry Potter and tackling my TBR list.
  • Super warm and cozy baths.
  • Ariana Grande's thank u, next album!
  • Pizza. A must.
  • Orange Theory classes.
  • Got a new purse. It's changed my life.
  • The Sims. It's helped calm me down to control a life that's actually going smoothly LOL
  • List making.
  • Playing with eye liner, which I don't use that often in my make up routine.

And that's about it! Let me know how your month has been and if you can't wait for March!

"This is the weirdest thing we've ever done."

 Does anyone remember the very last Harry Potter movie premiere, when J.K. Rowling said;

Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.

I mean, yes, you teared up when she said it, when you heard it, but I never really thought going back to Hogwarts would bring so much back to me. This is going to be a seven (duh) part series on my blog where I re-read Harry Potter, annotate my old books, and relive everything that made me fall in love with this series when I was seven years old.

This is something I've tried in the past and only got up to GoF (Goblet of Fire for those of you that might not have read the series yet), so I'm hoping that this project here will keep me accountable.

In the first installment, which you can read here, I mentioned my favorite characters. I'm going to give them score cards and see how they measure up to my current self throughout the series. This should be interesting (probably to no one but myself) considering Draco has been the ultimate favorite since the series ended. The updated scores from the second post are as follows;

Draco Malfoy - 80%
Hermione Granger - 100%
Sirius Black - 100%
Fred Weasley - 100%
Oliver Wood - 100%
Hagrid - 100%
Dumbledore - 100%
Snape - 90%
Arthur Weasley - 100%

Snape stayed the same, but Draco got 10% taken off for being a git. Standard, as you do. Sirius is introduced in this novel so I'm excited!

Chapter 2, pg 16 // "...The public is warned that Black is armed and extremely dangerous. A special hot line had been set up, and any sightings of Black should be reported immediately." - In the muggle world? This wasn't in the movie was it?

Chapter 2, pg 25 // "...If there's something wrong with the bitch, there'll be something wrong with the pup -" At that moment, the wineglass Aunt Marge was holding exploded in her hand. Shards of glass flew in every direction and Aunt Marge sputtered and blinked, her great ruddy face dripping. - A theory has gone around that Petunia did this. She suppressed her magic all these years. When Marge insulted Lily, she blew up the glass. She loved her sister, despite what she hated about her. All theory though.

Chapter 4, pg 60 // "You bought that monster?" said Ron, his mouth hanging open. "He's gorgeous, isn't he?" said Hermione, glowing.

Chapter 4, pg 63 // "It's because of you, Perce," said George seriously. "And there'll be little flags on the hoods, with HB on them -" "-for Humongous Bighead," said Fred.Chapter 5, pg 87 // Harry, Ron, and Hermione followed the rest of the school along the platform and out onto a rough mud track, where at least a hundred stagecoaches awaited the remaining students, each pulled, Harry could only assume, by an invisible horse, because when they climbed inside and shut the door, the coach set off all by itself, bumping and swaying in procession. - thestrals!

Chapter 6, pg 103 // At these words, both Harry and Ron glanced, grinning, at Hermione, who looked startled at the news that books wouldn't be much help in this subject. - LOL

Chapter 8, pg 145 // Crookshanks slowly chewed up the spider, his yellow eyes fixed insolently on Ron. - best cat ever. so petty.

Chapter 10, pg 194 // What did he have to do? He pulled out the map again and saw, to his astonishment, that a new ink figure had appeared upon it, labeled Harry Potter. This figure was standing exactly where the real Harry was standing, about halfway down the third-floor corridor, Harry watched carefully. His little ink self appeared to be taping the witch with his minute wand. Harry quickly took out his real wand and tapped the statue. Nothing happened. He looked back at the map. The tiniest speech bubble had appeared next to his figure. The word inside said, "Dissendium."

Chapter 14, pg 290 // "Come to have a good gloat?" said Ron savagely as she stopped in front of them. "Or have you just been to tell on us?" - Ron is such a jerk in this book.

Chapter 15, pg 293 // Harry and Ron both made furious moves toward Malfoy, but Hermione got there first - SMACK! She had slapped Malfoy across the face with all the strength she could muster. Malfoy staggered. Harry, Ron, Crabbe, and Goyle stood flabbergasted as Hermione raised her hand again. "Don't you dare call Hagrid pathetic, you foul - you evil -" "Hermione!" said Ron weakly, and he tried to grab her hand as she swung it back. "Get off, Ron!" Hermione pulled out her wand. Malfoy stepped backward.

Chapter 19, pg 361 // Harry looked around. Both Ron and Hermione had tried to disarm Snape at exactly the same moment.

Chapter 19, pg 365 // "Harry... I as good as killed them," he croaked. "I persuaded Lily and James to change to Peter at the last moment, persuaded them to use him as Secret-Keeper instead of me ... I'm to blame, I know it..." - :(

Chapter 19, pg 368 // "You haven't been hiding from me for twelve years," said Black. "You've been hiding from Voldemort's old supporters. I heard things in Azkaban, Peter... They all think you're dead, or you'd have to answer to them..." - interesting.

Chapter 19, pg 375 // "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" roared Black. "DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!" - AH-MAY-ZING.

Chapter 20, pg 379 // "Are you insane?" said Harry, his voice easily as croaky as Black's. "Of course I want to leave the Dursleys! Have you got a house? When can I move in?" Black turned right around to look at him. "You want to?" he said. "You mean it?" "Yeah, I mean it!" said Harry. Black's gaunt face broke into the first true smile Harry had seen upon it. - so cute, omg.

Chapter 21, pg 398 // "This is the weirdest thing we've ever done," Harry said fervently.

Chapter 21, pg 402 // "Search the skies, if you will... Hagrid, I could do with a cup of tea. Or a large brandy." - LOL

Chapter 22, pg 421 // "Perhaps we should think about dragons at the school entrance..." "Hagrid would like that," said Dumbledore, smiling at Harry and Hermione.

Draco Malfoy - 70%
Hermione Granger - 100%
Sirius Black - 100%
Fred Weasley - 100%
Oliver Wood - 100%
Hagrid - 100%
Dumbledore - 100%
Snape - 70%
Arthur Weasley - 100%

Naturally, Draco went down another ten. And Snape, well, went down 20. How particularly nasty he was here.
